I thoroughly enjoy bread, wine, coffee and cheese. That’s it, that is the sentence. I learned about brix in wine years ago. I didn’t learn enough to be able to tell you all about it, but I do remember that it refers to the sugar content in grapes. I am not a food and wine connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination; I am definitely not opposed to broadening my horizons. For now, let’s just say that I simply appreciate a nice glass of wine, good bread, delicious coffee, and great cheese. Cheers! Or as my dad says, “Amen Cheers!”.

This page is where you will find all things food and drink and where I go to enjoy them. Keep Scrolling!

A beautiful basket of bounty featured on a charcuterie table at the Black Vines’ Summer Vines event in Napa. Too colorful and eye pleasing not to share with all of you. Good looking and good for you, now that is the perfect combination.

Tea for Two

My sister-friend invited me to brunch. That brunch was way more than two friends swapping stories over eggs and coffee, but that is another story for another time. During our meal I asked her about a new local spot I saw advertised on the ‘gram. She smiled. Of course, she knew the place. Of course, she had already visited several times and shared it with friends who shared it with friends. And of course, she told me that she bakes an item or two on their menu.

Part two of our Sunday afternoon included a visit to Corbeaux Wine and Tea https://corbeauxwineandtea.com/ in Old Town Temecula. There are so many things I can say about this place. The owner is currently the youngest wine maker in the valley. They use local tea and partner with businesses in the area. The menu is unique, and the decor is simultaneously classic and trendy. I could go on and on, but instead I will just share photos. By the way, the wine glasses are filled with iced tea, the attention to detail and the personable service is magnificent. Take my word, you will want to visit again and again.

Tea, I neglected to mention my love for tea.

In my blog post Respite for the Soul, I shared my attraction to words and pretty things. I actually believe I said that I find them healing. As much as I thrive on chatting with friends, I fill my cup by carving out quiet time for myself. I enjoy my own company and over the years I have come to discover what makes my heart soar. Walking in nature, submerging in a mineral bath, dancing to a good beat, and savoring a beautifully set afternoon tea surely bring me joy. There is a difference between simply drinking tea and having tea. In a future post I will share some of my favorite afternoon tea experiences. I truly enjoy those super fancy outings, but I also relish tea for one with my journal and a good book at a local cafe. I will let you in on my tips for creating a personal tea time. Google search for best tea cafe in your area. If you are an adventurer like me, select the city you want to visit. Yelp is great for reviews and pictures. I specifically look for how the beverages are served. I make an effort to arrive early when the morning is fresh and new. I settle into a spot that feels cozy and offers a great view. Don’t be afraid to try something new if you are daring.

Happy sipping,
